Can Female Directors Shrink the Gender Gap? Evidence from France
Is board representation the answer to reducing gender inequality in the workplace? FX Ladant, Tanoto Postdoctoral Fellow, and co-author Louise Paul-Delvaux, find that increasing women’s representation on corporate boards has a positive impact on achieving pay equity. Their research shows that France's 2010 gender board quota boosted female representation among top earners and CEOs, and reduced the gender pay gap— without compromising business performance.
